Items to help while traveling with a baby!
Airplane travel with Tripp!
If you're reading this then chances are you have a baby or toddler. Maybe it’s your first or maybe your third and things are just different now and you're not sure where to start to go on vacation. When you have kids, vacations are just parenting in a different location and sometimes you get caught up in day to day life that trying to pack and move everything you use on a daily basis is difficult. So Allen and I have put some items together that hopefully help you with your traveling.
Item #1 - Patience and Grace
We just want to tell you that you are doing a great job! Being a parent is hard and we want you to remember that you’ve got this! Everyday will not be perfect and everyday will not be really hard either but give yourself grace and remember everything will be ok!
Item #2 - A Good Diaper Bag - (TBG $155)
Allen and I have our own diaper bags. Allen is a big man so finding a good diaper bag that fits his body comfortably and does not look girly is a hard task. So when Allen found Tactical Baby Gear he fell in love! They have all kinds of items mostly geared towards men but women if they like for baby gear. Allen has their diaper bag and their baby carrier and he could not say better things about the quality! The diaper bad is a good size and has all the compartments that you need as well as a built in fold out changing mat which is really neat. Sidenote, Allen likes to even travel with this book bag as his personal carry on when flying because of the size and compartments! The only downside of this item is the price as it’s a little pricey at $155. With that being said the quality of the diaper bag is great and durable and for a dad that wants to be proud and carry all the baby stuff around they want to get a cool item for them like the moms do when picking out their diaper bags!

Once again Allen and I have our own baby carriers. I have a Infantino Flip 4 in 1 carrier and I really liked using it. The price is good at $29 and the quality of it was good! Tripp did really good in it when he was younger. It truly is a game changer when you are flying. I would carrier him in this when we went through security and throughout the airport. It gives your more support when you're carrying your baby and they are safe and right against you when there are crowds and quick moving people. And if you are alone and your have your little one in their carrier it is not an easy task but you can go to the bathroom with them inside its just a leg workout haha! Allen has the Tactical Baby Gear brand baby carrier and loved using it when Tripp was little. The one negative of this carrier is the same as the diaper bag it is a little pricey at $155. Like I said above with the diaper bag, it is nice to have a company that is giving dads an option that makes them happy. Allen is a very active dad and loves packing his diaper bag and when Tripp was small being the parent that carried him and he wanted something that he was proud to carry and that he liked the look of. This is definitely something that TBG has done. Yes, women can purchase their products as they make everything for everyone but it’s a great brand that is making great options for dads!

There are lots of things that we always keep in our diaper bag but two that we wanted to touch on here was a portable changing mat and a sound machine. I love our portable changing mat because it is always handy and there when I need it. I don’t like laying Tripp on a public changing table so when I have to change him in a public restroom I always use my portable changing mat. There have also been times when I was not in a public bathroom and I had to change him on a different surface and having that mat always make me feel better. The sound machine is something that we always travel with. Tripp uses a sound machine every night for sleeping so a portable one for travel is perfect! It can also be used if needed during travel for naps.

This item is really great to have in those warmer months. We have a Amacool portable stroller fan. It has 3 legs that are bendable and it can be connected to a stroller at various different locations and blow the fan onto your baby as needed. This is a great item for traveling because you do not know when its going to be hot an your little one is not happy about it. We have used ours at the beach, on the stroller, and even for our use before as a night time fan while sleeping. So this is a good item to have depending on the time of year. The only negative I would speak on with this item is that after you have bent the legs on and off your stroller for awhile the legs will break. So I found that it lasted a good summer season and then we needed a new one for the next summer but I like everything else about it!

There are a lot of different brands of different swimsuits out there. We had a SwimZip brand and we really liked it. It covered his entire body and has UPF 50. As he has gotten older we are switching into the swim shorts and a long sleeve SPF swim shirt which are just as comfy and breathable for them.

Like his swimsuit we wanted to keep him covered from the sun so he would not get burnt. We had a couple different ones that were gifted to us when he was an infant but the one that we have used this past summer was MaxNova brand. It’s UPF 50 and covers his head good with a drawstring.

Our baby beach tent was a must have when Tripp was little. We have a Monobeach one. It covers on the sides and the back and the front is open. There is mesh on the back so the wind and get through and when they are older the bottom has a pool built in. So all you have to do is dig out a hole in the sand and put some water inside for your little one to play in the shade!

I don’t want Tripps carseat or stroller to ever get yucky when traveling by air or that something turns up broken, so when we fly we use these gate check bags. Also if you get these make sure you put a luggage tags on that bag so you know its yours when you get off your plane. And yes, you're thinking how would I miss the big red bag on the belt with other luggage. There could be other parents traveling and there my be 5 on your luggage belt. Having this tag to know its user is very important.

We have an Infant Optics baby monitor and we really like it. It’s great for travel because it is not wifi based so you do not have to connect it just plug it in!
